To ensure business needs, security must be baked into all business critical applications. Company had to create a clear business case for legacy-application modernization, outlining cloud adoption schedule, and adopting foundational solutions to make the transformation easier. Moreover, the application was not scalable to meet ever-increasing demand and there were challenges in accessing the applications from multiple locations.
StarOne IT partnered with client to implement a modern AWS based EC2 cloud platform to modernize their IT landscape. The solution also included enablement of Amazon RDS database to meet the increasing load and demand. The EC2 provided on-demand, scalable computing capacity in the AWS cloud to run client's business critical applications. EC2 also supported launching as many virtual servers as the organization needs, allowing scaling up or down when there is an increase or decrease in demand.
For strategic gains, companies are now opting to move to cloud to leverage the scalability, reliability and the higher order functionality it offers. With adoption of cloud, the web servers running client applications are now accessible from multiple locations. Launching RDS database has eliminated the challenges related to large number of read/writes. With RDS, heavy queue length to database server is controlled hence issue of database slowness is resolved. With unlimited scalability, any number of users can now access the web servers. Enabling auto scaling allows servers to scale up and down based on usage and demand pattern with minimum operating cost.
